I am on a roll with my Tour de Coffee! The next stop was on Sunday, June 26, 2016! Wayne wanted to show me the nice bike paths in Irvine.
The bike paths are well-groomed and really nice.
The bike path disconnected at Warner and we exited to ride to Tustin Union Market.
At Union Market, we folded the bikes and sat just inside. Union Market has food, dessert spots, a bar and shops. We got country fried steak poutine at Kroft, which serves all kinds of poutines and sandwiches.
The Portola was named after the Spanish explorer, Gaspar de Portolá who headed the expedition that founded California’s missions. He eventually became the first governor of Las Californias and Alta California. Portola coffee’s mission is to embark on a journey to uncover the world’s highest quality coffee.
After food and coffee, we headed back. Wayne wanted to show me the lakes in the Woodbridge area of Irvine. I remember doing a half marathon in this area many years ago.
We rode around both lakes and then got back to the car. We rode 13 miles! I had bike shorts on this time which really helped me sit on the saddle! 🙂 Where to next?
