My running friend and fellow Orange Mud Ambassador held his 2nd annual Run Deo Run Trail Races event! Deo’s event celebrates his birthday and all of the proceeds benefit his Students Run LA team! Deo is an amazing runner–he is approaching his 400th marathon/ultra! Yes, 400th! I had to support my fellow runner and teacher!
St. Patrick’s Day was approaching so I had on all of my St. Paddy’s gear and met up with fellow INKnBURN ambassador, Robert and InB fan, Karen! I love connecting with my fellow runners at races!
We had to wait a while for the race to begin (30 minutes) but I didn’t mind since this is a low-key race that benefits an awesome organization and I can’t begin to imagine all of the details involved in putting on a race.
We got course instructions from the RD.
And we were off! I ran the 5k which was a loop around the Griffith Park golf course. I was feeling a bit tired after my long run and the time change was that same day so I was a bit of a mess! But I had a great time and was happy to support my friend and SRLA!
I tried out my new Altra Olympus trail shoes, too! They’re really great, soaked from the wet grass! I had to sport my Balega socks with my themed St. Paddy rainbow socks, too!
Hooray! It was a great run and I was just happy to get in more miles for a good cause. If you’d like to donate to Deo’s SRLA team, check out the link!
We got a nice t-shirt and a lovely necklace as a gift from Deo! So sweet!
And the bling is all blinged out, of course! Deo wouldn’t have it any other way! Until next year!
