Week of 13 of my ultra training for Ray Miller was a step-back week for me. I was pretty tired from two 26 milers, two weekends in a row. Plus, work has been so busy and stressful.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016 – Trailer Canyon
Trailer Canyon has a lot of climbing and a nice down hill going back. The sunset was unbelievable. Truly amazing.
Laura and I practiced some yoga poses and did some core work at our favorite outlook spot. So fun! It’s getting dark so fast these days! Wahhhhh. I told Laura I need to incorporate core work in my training so she said from now on, we would. Read about my commitment to work on my core here.
Wednesday, September 21, 2106 – rest day
My coach wanted me to rest until my tough half marathon on Saturday so I rested. Plus it was Back-to-School Night so the week was crazy anyway. I did get my Balega goodies which are so super cool!
Thursday, September 22, 2016 – rest day
Hooray! It’s the first day of autumn! I had to “fall” into the season with a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
And I wore my pumpkin pie hat to celebrate!
Friday, September 23, 2016 – rest day
Saturday, September 24, 2016 – Saddleback Mountain Goat Half Marathon
My good friends/trail sisters/Dirt Divas and I ran the Saddleback Mountain Goat race. I ran the half and the other girls ran the full. It was a tough, tough race. I was so proud of them all for finishing. Amazing.
The trails were rocky and technical. I pushed as hard as I could. I still need so much work on technical trail. I felt strong on the climbs and after the race, I ran a few more miles to make it a total of 16 for the day.
September 25, 2016 – rest day
My trail tribe and I celebrated Flor’s birthday at a great Caribbean restaurant, the Sunny Spot. I needed all the drinks to replenish from the day before!
Running, trails, celebrating with friends is what it’s all about! And hooray, fall is officially here!
