I ran the Old West Trails 30k and made it a short trip to kick off my spring break!
We travelled 160 miles to Stage Coach Trails RV Resort in the Anza Borrego Desert. It was quite a trip and we got in late. Late check-in at the resort was easy! Our key was on a clip just outside the office!
I had enough time to go to the lodge to get my bib. Everyone had eaten and was listening to Geezer Larry, the awesome RD, talk about the race and give away prizes.
Bib pick-up was easy and mellow! We got a nice tech shirt!
I got to meet fellow INKnBURN ambassador, Kristina!
My boyfriend and I checked out our cabin. It was small and quaint but had everything we needed. We had beds, a heater, AC and electricity.
We woke up to a beautiful sunrise. The air was crisp and the campground was buzzing with excitement for race day!
Now that there was daylight, I could see all that the resort had to offer! Our cabin had a bench and firepit.
The restroom was just a hop and a skip away from us.
The resort had cabins for four people, stage coach cabins for two people and spaces for tents. There was a pool and basketball court, too. It was so peaceful and lovely there.
I got ready and was able to catch the start of the 50k at 7 am! I got to hug fellow INKnBURN ambassadors, Kristina and Jenn!
Go, go, go!
I went to check out breakfast at the lodge and got to meet INKnBURN elite ultrarunner, Nickademus! So cool to meet him!
The awards were sitting in the lodge and I had to check out the design. Horseshoe with denim! So awesome!
I had a little more time to get ready and prepare for my race! I was excited! I loved the small feel of the race. Being in the desert was so calm and relaxing. This race was just what I needed! Read about my race here!
