On Sunday, June 18, 2017, I ran the Father’s Day Half Marathon with A Better World Running!
I love seeing my A Better World Running Fam Bam! We volunteered at registration and then got to run. I needed the miles and had run trails the day before. I wasn’t sure how my knee would feel as I had tweaked it when I slipped in the restroom at Veggie Grill just 4 days prior. It was bugging me a little still.
We had a great turnout! It was warm already! When I checked my Garmin Connect app later on, it had gotten up to 93 degrees!
I felt pretty good the whole race! There are some shady areas on the course and I liked the dirt section even though it was warmer there. I ran two loops for the half. I only started to feel my knee toward the end of the half and I didn’t feel pain like I used to running on road. So that’s great news!
I had plenty of fuel and nutrition with my Orange Mud VestPack2!
The medal was awesome!
It was so hot at the end. I stretched and hurried to clean up using my Action Wipes!
I had my CarboPro Interphase protein drink and HydraC drink to replenish and recover!
I got to chat with my friends and help clean up. I was just happy to finish strong in the heat!
After the race, I treated myself to two drinks at Starbucks! I got my usual latte and tried the Pink Drink! Yum!
It’s always great to run a half, see friends and just push myself!
