For the past several years, my sister and I have run turkey trots on Thanksgiving Day. This year, we ran A Better World Running’s Turkey Trot in Fountain Valley.
I volunteered at bib pick-up and Wayne volunteered as the ride marshall as this course has several turns.
The turn-out was great!
My sis and I ran together for the first half but I couldn’t keep up with her on the turn-around. 🙂
It was nice to just do the 5k. I was still recovering from the 50k, three weeks ago, and just took it easy.
I finished strong at the end! It doesn’t matter how slowly I go, I always try to finish strong at the finish.
We all had a great time! It was a fun, mellow event. We got nice tech shirts and medals! Best of all, we started our Thanksgiving in a fun, active way! We helped clean up, too, as we always like to support Michelle and Mark with their events.
I had fun sporting my new INKnBURN Steampunk kit, too! It was a non-traditional but I had fun being Steampunk Turkey!
I love that my sister and I have our turkey trot tradition! I’m thankful for this time we have together, kicking off our Thanksgiving with a good sweat before we feast! Sister power!
