Disclaimer: I was given 4 bags of Bob’s Red Mill Protein Powder and Nutritional Boosters to review as a Sweat Pink Ambassador with Fit Approach. As always, all opinions are my own.
I was excited when I was chosen to try Bob’s Red Mill new protein powders. I’m a fan of their oats and flour and it’s a brand I know and trust. I received a beautiful box filled with 4 of their new protein powder and nutritional boosters, a booklet of recipes and a shaker cup.
I love that all of the protein powders have 20 g of plant protein. Sometimes I don’t do too well with whey or soy protein. Additionally, all of the protein powders have nutritional boosters, too! They have a good amount of fiber and probiotics.
Here are nutritional facts:
- 20g plant-based protein per serving
- 12g fiber per serving (9 g soluble fiber)
- Beneficial Bacillus coagulans probiotics
- Good source of omega-3 fatty acids
- 35% RDA iron per serving
- Gluten free
- No soy ingredients
- No dairy ingredients
As stated by Bob himself, the product is great those of us on-the-go, who like protein powder to fuel an active lifestyle, but need something without artificial sweetners, synthetic vitamins and extra junk. It’s simple and most importantly, it tastes great!
I tried Vanilla first and love that it’s sweetened with monk fruit extract for a touch of sweetness. It’s not too sweet and doesn’t have a weird after taste.
I decided to make a fruit smoothie with the Vanilla Protein Powder and Nutritional Booster. It was perfect after a long run on the trails. I added mango, pineapple, frozen banana and coconut milk to the Vanilla Protein Powder and Nutritional Booster. I added a touch of cinnamon, too. It was refreshing and delicious!
Usually my smoothies are really green but I decided to treat myself after a long day on tough trails in the heat. This was perfect!
I made a smoothie with the Chocolate Protein Powder and Nutritional Booster, frozen bananas and almond milk for my boyfriend and he really liked it! He’s not into trying protein powders like I am but he liked the consistency and taste. He is not used to plant protein and when he asked what the after taste was, I said, “That’s what plant protein tastes like!” He enjoyed it and drank it all! It was just like a milk shake!
The Protein & Fiber Nutritional Booster is great tasting even though it’s unflavored.
I tried it with spinach, nectarine, cinnamon, turmeric and grapefruit seed extract–these are the usual ingredients in my green smoothie. It was tasty and filling.
I had it before my training run and it kept me going until dinner time. I like that it has 12 g of fiber, too!
I tried the Chai Protein Powder and Nutritional Booster, taking ideas from the recipe booklet that I received. I added oats, cacao nibs and almond milk with the Chai Protein Powder to make a smoothie.
I wasn’t sure I’d like the Chai flavor in a smoothie but I really did. I think it would be great during the fall when I crave chai and pumpkin flavors. I want to try the Chai Protein Powder and Nutritional Booster in a pumpkin cookie or pancake recipe!
I always have a smoothie during recess time and Bob’s Red Mill Protein Powder and Nutrtional Boosters have kept me going during a stressful time, now at the end of the school year! They taste really great and have great ingredients in them!
I’ll be on vacation soon and will experiment with recipes using the Protein Powder and Nutritional Boosters! I’m thinking some protein energy balls and cookies would be awesome!
