Hi and welcome! Thank you for joining me on this new journey. I’ve been meaning to get this going for a while and was finally inspired to redo my blog after working the Momentum Jewelry booth in July at the IDEA World Health and Fitness Convention. I met a lot of awesome people there and decided to take action! So here we go!
My 5 reasons for blogging are:
1.) Sharing about what I love I love running and have learned a lot in the last 13 years. I want to share my journey, the victories and the hardships. Over the years I have been lucky enough to represent brands I love. This can be a forum for letting others know about the products I love and why.
2.) Connecting One of the best things about running are the relationships formed through the sport. I have met many amazing people through training and races. My goal is to continue connecting with fellow runners through my blog. I hope to perhaps even guide new runners by sharing my experiences.
3.) Being accountable #thestruggleisreal! This # cracks me up but it’s true. I’ve been up and down in my fitness level. I’ve gained weight. I succumb to stress and emotional distress. My hope is to blog about what I hope/know will be a success story about being more fit and strong.
4.) Reflecting We learn and grow as we reflect on our work. As a teacher, I am continually reflecting on my practice. A teacher’s work is never done because of this reflection process. Running isn’t work but it is in that it is hard to do and there is always room for improvement, as in all that we do. And when you’re passionate about something, you want to keep reflecting and figuring out what to do next, what challenge to take on and how to keep on getting better. I want to do this through writing about races I run, my training, my goals and whatever else comes along the way.
5.) Growing personally Once I’ve reflected, I can take action. This blog isn’t going to be easy. It’s a risk to put yourself out there for all to see. But I’m doing this for me. I’ve always liked writing and this is the place to do it. (As a teacher, I want my students to write so I can practice what I preach!) And I can share photos! I love photos! Personal growth is my goal and this blog will help document triumphs, setbacks and all my adventures.
I hope you’ll come along this path with me and share your thoughts here, too. 🙂
