REI’s #optoutside campaign on Black Friday was very successful, it seemed. I had many friends who did #optoutside that day and I had plans to #optoutside the entire weekend.
My original plan, when REI made their announcement, was to run. I was going to run Los Leones but since the Dirt Divas planned for Los Leones on Saturday, I changed my plan. My weekend was full of workouts anyway!
Thursday, November 26, 2015: Turkey Trot
Friday, November 27, 2015: strength training
I decided to take a recovery day and do some strength training. I haven’t been very consistent with my strength workouts and need to get back into the routine. I usually squeeze them in inside the house but decided to take my workout outside! It was such a gorgeous day out, too!
I did walking lunges with my sandbag weight, planks and dead lifts.
I also did a lot of rolling using my Rumble Roller and my Roll Recovery to work my right leg that has been tight.
Saturday, November 28, 2015: trail run
Sunday, November 29, 2015
Sunday, I ran the Giving Thanks 5k with A Better World Running!
It was a great holiday weekend! I volunteered, I ate, I ran, I rested, I recovered, I ran some more, ate some more, rested some more… All in all, I had a productive and relaxing week. I am grateful for my health, my family, my friends and my running life.
I am really thankful I could #optoutside this holiday weekend and look forward to many more weekends outside!
